Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, disclosed this in a statement released on Monday.
The appointment of Mr. Fayose as Chairman of REA, also comes with the confirmation of board members and Non-Executive Directors, including Alhaji Ahmadu Abubakar and Engineer Ilyasu Ibrahim Makinta.

Also retained are the three previously appointed Executive Directors: Ayoade Gboyega (Executive Director, Corporate Services), Umar Abdullahi Umar (Executive Director, Technical Services), and Doris Uboh (Executive Director, Rural Electrification Fund).
Recall that the Executive Directors were appointed in January 2025 for an initial term of four years, in line with the extant provisions governing certain political, public, and judicial office holders.
The President also appointed Dr. Akinola Odeyemi as Managing Director of the Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading Plc (NBET), taking over from Johnson Akinnawo, who had been serving in an acting capacity since July 2024 following the expiration of the tenure of Dr. Nnaemeka Ewelukwa.
The President in the statement by Onanuga further confirmed Dr. Anthony Godwin as the substantive Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria Atomic Energy Commission, having previously served in an acting capacity.
