The 2026 edition of the Energy Times Award will take place on Friday, April 17, at the Radisson Blu Ikeja, where prominent figures including Adebayo Adelabu, Mohammed Inuwa Yahaya, and Engr. Akinwole Omoboriowo II will be honoured.

This was disclosed in a statement issued by the newspaper’s Editorial Board Chairman, Yakubu Lawal.

Corporate organisations such as PANA Holdings, MOMAS Group, and Egbin Power Plc will be recognised for excellence in local content, innovation, and electricity generation, while Joy Ogaji will receive the Amazon of the Nigerian Power Sector Award for her contributions to the Nigeria Electricity Supply Industry.

Adebayo Adelabu is expected to attend as Special Guest of Honour and will also be among the award recipients, alongside Mohammed Inuwa Yahaya, who will be honoured for his strides in energy infrastructure development.

Similarly, Kola Balogun of MOMAS Group will be honoured for his innovative leadership, while Biodun Ogunleye will attend as Special Guest of Honour and an Excellence Award recipient.

Additional Excellence Award honourees include Aliyu Abubakar of the Rural Electrification Agency, Obinna Ezeobi of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board, and Kennie Obateru, former spokesperson of NNPC Limited.

Additional awardees include Oritsedere Otubu for the Power Sector Expert Award; Rekiat Momoh as CEO of the Year (Power Sector); Seplat Energy Plc for Energy Company CSR Excellence; Osayande Igiehon as Outstanding Oil & Gas Personality of the Year; Taiwo Afolabi as Strategic Energy Investor of the Year; Williams Akporeha as Union Leader of the Year; and Jennifer Adighije as Power Sector Personality of the Year, while the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure will receive Government Agency of the Year.

The organisers noted that the awardees were selected in recognition of their exceptional contributions to the energy sector and their impact on Nigeria’s economy and citizens, particularly in 2025.

In the statement signed by the newspaper’s Editorial Board Chairman, Yakubu Lawal, it was revealed that a panel of industry experts served as advisers to enhance the credibility and quality of the awards.

Lawal added that the 2026 edition of the ENERGY TIMES Award aims to celebrate individuals and organisations driving transformation in the energy landscape and improving lives nationwide.

He further explained that ENERGY TIMES, established in March 2017 as a weekly publication, has evolved into a bi-weekly newspaper with operations in Lagos, Abuja, and Port Harcourt, serving a growing subscriber base both locally and internationally.
