The African Association of Energy Journalists and Publishers (AJERAP) has announced plans to host Mr. Julius Rone, Group Managing Director/CEO of UTM Offshore Limited, for a special one-on-one engagement on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at 11 a.m. Central African Time (CAT).
This was disclosed in a statement by Allen Atwine, Executive Secretary of AJERAP, highlighting the association’s commitment to promoting accurate reporting and analysis of energy, environmental, and sustainability issues across Africa.
According to Atwine, the event will provide a platform for Mr. Rone, a prominent African oil and gas leader, to share insights on key topics, including the establishment of UTM Offshore Limited, the company’s floating LNG project, and the final investment decision (FID).
Rone will also discuss the anticipated impact of these developments on Nigeria, Africa, and the global economy.
Additionally, Mr. Rone will address broader energy-related issues, such as Africa’s energy poverty, the global energy transition, energy security, and opportunities for investment in Africa’s energy sector.
His insights are expected to guide potential investors and stakeholders interested in the continent’s energy opportunities.
Atwine further emphasized Mr. Rone’s reputation as a seasoned businessman, philanthropist, and promoter of the Julius and Yutee Rone Foundation.
She noted his memberships in various professional bodies, including the Institute of Directors (IoD), American Society of Administrative Professionals (ASAP), and American Management Association (AMA).
The event will be co-hosted by Atwine and Sanna Camara, a journalist from The Gambia. It is expected to attract a diverse audience, including industry leaders, financiers, scholars, policymakers, government officials, and energy analysts from across Africa and beyond.
