NUPRC, LASG to set up a joint team on viability of the appeal

The Lagos State Commissioner for Energy, Biodun Ogunleye, has urged the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) to support the state’s aggressive drive to enhance national grid capacity by ensuring adequate gas supply and favourable commercial pricing to boost power generation and Nigeria’s production capacity.
Engr. Biodun Ogunleye, Lagos State Commissioner for Energy, made the appeal during a visit to Engr. Gbenga Komolafe, Commission Chief Executive of the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC), alongside a delegation from the Lagos State Ministry of Energy.
According to the Lagos State Commissioner, the state has launched an aggressive drive to provide additional power capacity to the national grid, considering the high demand for electricity for both commercial and domestic use.
He added that securing commercial gas pricing for Lagos State would aid in boosting the nation’s production capacity.
Engr. Komolafe on his part, promised to set up a team from the Commission to work with the Lagos State Ministry of Energy and other stakeholders on the viability of the appeal.
