The Board of Directors of Nigeria LNG Limited has appointed Dr. Sophia Horsfall as the General Manager of External Relations and Sustainable Development, succeeding Andy Odeh, who retired on November 1, 2024.

This was confirmed in a statement obtained by Advisors Reports on Thursday.

Dr. Sophia Horsfall has been appointed as the General Manager of External Relations and Sustainable Development at Nigeria LNG Limited, succeeding Andy Odeh, who retired on November 1, 2024.

NLNG in the statement highlighted Dr. Horsfall’s extensive career spanning over 25 years in the oil and gas sector, noting her versatile expertise in finance, human resources, and corporate communications.

“Dr. Horsfall’s distinguished career at NLNG is marked by numerous accomplishments, including serving as the company’s first HR Manager in Business Partnering and leading as the inaugural Chief of Staff for the COVID-19 Crisis Management Team,” the company stated.

Her managerial journey at NLNG began as Manager of Manpower Planning and Resourcing, followed by her role as Manager of Corporate Communications and Public Affairs, which she held most recently.

Recognized for her professional excellence, Dr. Horsfall is a fellow and member of several esteemed organizations, including the Chartered Institute of Accountants of Nigeria (FCA), the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (AMCIPM), the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (AMNIPR), and the Chartered Institute of Directors Nigeria (mCIOD).

According to NLNG, she has further honed her expertise through management programs at Lagos Business School, INSEAD, the University of Cambridge, and SDA Bocconi.

“Dr. Horsfall is highly credentialed, holding a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the University of Lagos, an MBA from Imperial College London, a Diploma in Strategy and Innovation, and an MSc in Major Program Management from the University of Oxford,” the statement read.

The company described her as a professional known for driving corporate transformation and talent development, adding, “Dr. Horsfall brings her international experience into her new role as the company spokesperson and chief reputation manager.”

Andy Odeh, in recent statement congratulating Dr. Sophia Horsfall on her new role, expressed strong confidence in her continued success as she transitions to General Manager of External Relations and Sustainable Development.

Odeh said, “We will continue to support her in every way possible to ensure NLNG reaches new heights. With her wealth of experience, I trust she will bring fresh perspectives to our relations and drive new accomplishments.”

Odeh also highlighted the company’s ongoing commitment to strengthening media engagement under Sophia’s leadership, specifically through initiatives like the Change Your Story programme and the newly introduced NLNG Prize for Energy Reporting.

“I look forward to an exciting time with Sophia and the press as we continue to make strides in these areas,” Odeh concluded.
