Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State has reaffirmed his commitment to bringing the 30 MW Tri-Fuel turbine power plant located along the Ore-Sagamu Expressway in Ore to fruition, after 12 years being on under construction.
Comrade Allen Sowore, Senior Special Adviser to the Ondo State Governor on Strategic Communication, made this known in a statement obtained by Advisors Reports on Sunday.
According to Sowore, Governor Aiyedatiwa gave the assurance on Sunday, August 25, 2024, when he conducted a facility tour of the 30 MW Turbine Power Plant established in 2012 by former Governor Dr. Olusegun Mimiko.
Governor Aiyedatiwa reaffirmed his commitment to bringing this significant project to fruition, emphasizing the substantial investment by previous administrations.
“What is required now is to allocate a little more resource and commit ourselves to ensuring that the project becomes operational. And I am sure God will see us through,” he said.
Engr. Ayodele Ikumapayi, President / CEO at ASB VALIANT Group, the contractor in charge of the project, who accompanied the governor, in his remark during the inspection, stated that the power plant is solely owned by the state government.
He explained that once completed, the plant will have the capacity to serve the entire Ore area and its surroundings, including the Industrial Park.
Advisors Reports reveal that the Ondo State Government-owned plant, with an installed capacity of 30MW from its Tri-Fuel Gas Turbine (15+15), is the first power plant in Africa to utilize natural gas, liquefied petroleum gas, and diesel, and is now ready for commissioning.
