Mainstream Energy Solutions Limited, in collaboration with the Northeast Development Commission (NEDC), has wrapped up a rigorous Technical Development Programme, empowering 50 individuals as proficient linesmen/technicians via its renowned Mainstream Academy.
These adept professionals have been mobilized to enhance operations and elevate service standards across the Yola Electricity Distribution Company (YEDC) network regions.
This was confirmed in a statement released by the management of Mainstream Academy and obtained by Advisors Reports on Tuesday.
According to the Academy, the training programme was designed to furnish the beneficiaries with the needed essential skill set to become competent linesmen to fill manpower gaps in the power sector.
Advisors Reports gathered that 46 out of the trainees possessed a National Diploma-ND in Electrical Engineering while four have a National Certificate of Education in Electrical Technology.
The Academy also stated that all the trainees were posted to various business units of Yola Electricity Distribution Company for hands-on job experience to make the programme more robust.
It said, ” YEDC is the distribution company saddled with the responsibility of distributing electricity in the 4 states of the northeast, namely Adamawa, Borno, Taraba and Yobe.
