The Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Association Alliance (REEEAA) has confirmed that Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Minister of Power Chief Adebayo Adelabu, Minister of Women Affairs Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, and German Ambassador to Nigeria Annett Gunther will serve as keynote speakers and special guests at its 4th International Investment Conference in Lagos.
In a statement obtained by Advisors Reports on Monday, Coordination Consultant Oluwakemi Fasoranti confirmed that the 4th International Investment Conference will hold from September 23–24, 2025, at the Radisson Blu Anchorage Hotel, Lagos.
Fasoranti added that with Nigeria accelerating its energy transition through groundbreaking initiatives, the two-day conference themed “Energy Transition: From Rhetoric to Action in Nigeria” underscores the urgency of shifting from commitments to concrete implementation, investment, and measurable outcomes.
She noted that the conference will host over 500 key stakeholders, including government officials, financiers, technology providers, innovators, and development partners.
At the conference, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu is expected to speak on the role of Lagos as an emerging energy hub, while Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, will deliver a keynote address outlining Nigeria’s long-term strategy for expanding energy access and modernizing the national grid.
Minister of Women Affairs, Hon. Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, will emphasize the importance of women’s leadership and inclusion in achieving a just and equitable energy transition, while Mrs. Omotenioye Majekodunmi, the newly appointed Director General of the National Council on Climate Change (NCCC), will present Nigeria’s climate governance priorities and progress under the Energy Transition Plan.
Hon. Biodun Ogunleye, Lagos State Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources, will spotlight Lagos’ electricity market reforms and its positioning as a subnational clean energy hub. Prof. Abubakar Sani Sambo, Kaduna State Commissioner for Education and Chairman of REEEAA’s Board of Trustees, is also scheduled to highlight the role of capacity building, research, and skills development in sustaining Nigeria’s energy transition.
Annett Gunther, German Ambassador to Nigeria, will reflect on Germany’s renewable energy and climate action partnership with Nigeria, while Mr. Massimo De Luca, Head of Cooperation at the EU Delegation to Nigeria, will reaffirm the EU’s commitment to financing, cooperation, and sustainable development in support of Nigeria’s clean energy pathway.
According to the organisers, the programme is designed around the key pillars of Nigeria’s energy future, with breakout sessions aimed at delivering actionable outcomes.
These include Policy & Regulation, featuring fireside chats on fragmented regulations and the need for a unified legal framework aligned with the Federal Government’s Energy Transition Plan (ETP) and state-level reforms; Finance & Investment, with panels on climate finance, public-private collaboration, and B2B matchmaking to link developers with financiers, banks, DFIs, and venture capital; and Technology & Innovation, focusing on hydrogen, smart grid modernization, and local manufacturing under the Nigeria Electrification Project (NEP) supported by the World Bank, AfDB, and GIZ.
Other segments will spotlight capacity & inclusion, through youth innovation forums and women-led panels tied to the Solar Power Naija programme, which targets 25 million off-grid connections and new jobs for women and young people, as well as Communication & Engagement, exploring the media’s role in building public trust and awareness on clean energy.
A major highlight will be the unveiling of the Inaugural Clean Energy Awards 2025, which will celebrate pioneers, innovators, and changemakers driving Nigeria’s renewable energy and energy efficiency transformation.
Award categories will spotlight groundbreaking innovators, women and youth leaders, community projects, policy champions, and lifetime contributors.
Winners, selected by a panel of distinguished judges, will be announced during a dedicated gala ceremony, gaining visibility before ministers, financiers, investors, and international partners.
The conference will also host an exhibition arena dedicated to showcasing cutting-edge clean energy initiatives and technologies. Highlights will include e-mobility solutions and EV charging infrastructure, advanced battery storage technologies for reliable off-grid and hybrid systems, innovative clean energy systems for communities and industries, as well as capacity-building and training concepts to prepare Nigeria’s workforce for a renewable energy future.
Another key spotlight will be the fast-growing e-mobility sector, with the Electric Mobility Promoters Association of Nigeria (EMPAN) and other partners taking a central role in demonstrating Nigeria’s transition toward cleaner transport systems and localized innovation.
The 4th International Investment Conference has secured strong institutional backing, with confirmed sponsors including GIZ, the European Union Delegation to Nigeria, Access Bank, Energy Training Centre (ETC), Stratagem Energy Management Ltd, and the Rural Electrification Agency (REA). Organisers noted that sponsorship opportunities remain open for exceptional branding exposure.

Nigeria has committed to achieving net-zero emissions by 2060 and expanding renewable energy to close its electricity access gap.
Flagship initiatives such as the Energy Transition Plan (2022), the Solar Power Naija Programme, and the Nigeria Electrification Programme (NEP) — supported by global partners including the World Bank, IFC, AfDB, and the EU — provide a solid framework for this ambition.
