The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) has approved the upgrade of six additional feeders, namely OguduINJ-T1-CAC, OworoINJ-T3-GTB, four other feeders to Band A for Ikeja Electric, thereby increasing the total number of Band A feeders under IE’s network from 45 to 51 across various locations.
The decision was confirmed by Mr. Kingsley Okotie, Head of Corporate Communication at Ikeja Electric,
This was obtained by Advisors Reports in a publication released on Monday by Ikeja DisCo and confirmed by Mr. Kingsley Okotie, the company’s Head, Corporate Communication.
According to him, the additional 6 feeders upgraded to Band A were approved after NERC’s thorough review of their availability to do the 20hrs daily supply.
Advisors Reports confirmed that the upgrade is part of NERC’s efforts to ensure a more efficient and reliable electricity supply for customers in the Band A classification, which includes those who enjoy 20-24 hours of electricity supply daily.

Advisors Reports gathered that the new upgrade also aligned with the NERC’s updated rates for customers within the Band A service category, which provides that customers on Band A will be paying N225 kwpH.
NERC emphasised the decision to increase the tariff was based on key market tariff review indices, including Nigerian inflation, US inflation, exchange rate, transmission loss factor, generation cost, transmission and administration cost, and wholesale gas to power prices.
