Niger Delta Power Holding Company Limited (NDPHC) has signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Electric Utilities Nigeria Limited (EUL) to sell 225 MW of electric power from the Olorunsogo Generation Company to the Agbara Industrial Estate.

Chiedu Ugbo, Managing Director of NDPHC, announced this in a statement obtained by Advisors Reports on Wednesday.

According to Ugbo, the strategic partnership aims to significantly benefit industries in the Agbara Industrial Estate by providing a stable and efficient power supply essential for their operations.

Ugbo noted that the partnership will involve upgrading the transmission and distribution infrastructure in the area to enhance the delivery of electric power to end users.

Advisors Reports gathered that the supply for the Agbara Industrial Estate in this context, will be sourced from the 336 MW capacity Olorunsogo I power plant, a gas turbine power plant located in Ogun State, owned by NDPHC.

NDOHC’s plan to upgrade existing transmission lines is expected to accommodate the increased load, ensuring minimal losses and maximum efficiency in power delivery to the industrial estate.

The parties are also expected to install advanced grid management systems and smart technologies to monitor and manage the power flow effectively.
