The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission has approved thirty-three (33) additional Band A feeders for the Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC), bringing the total number of Band A feeders to fifty-four(54), guaranting customers in these areas a minimum of 20 hours of daily power supply, in line with the April Supplimentary Order to the Multi-Year Tariff Order 2024.
Babatunde Lasaki, General Manager, Corporate Communications of EKEDC made this known in a statement obtained by Advisors Reports on Monday.
According to him, customers within the EKEDC network are assured of ongoing efforts to improve the quality of service rendered to them.
Advisors Reports gathered that the 33 new feeders will be located in various districts, including the Island District, Lekki District, Mushin District, Agbara District, Orile District and AJELE District.

Lasaki in the statement said, “In our bid to serve our customers better, we are looking to even add more feeders to the list of our Band A feeders so that more customers can enjoy a guaranteed 20 hours of power supply daily.
He said that it is also EKEDC’s commitment to ensure that customers under other service bands (Bands B to E) also enjoy their guaranteed minimum supply hours with further plans to improve power supply within the network.
“We are working tirelessly to eliminate supply downtime within our franchise area and achieve our goal of a stable and uninterruptible power supply,” Lasaki said.
The EKEDC’s spokesperson further explained that the Company has within its ranks a Rapid Response team available to take down any complaints and enquiries from customers regarding power supply which is available on the EKEDC website.

NERC emphasised the decision to increase the tariff was based on key market tariff review indices, including Nigerian inflation, US inflation, exchange rate, transmission loss factor, generation cost, transmission and administration cost, and wholesale gas to power prices.
