The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) has approved the MYTO feeder upgrade for 23 additional Band ‘A’ feeders, bringing the total number of Band ‘A’ feeders across the Ikeja Electric (IE) network to 179.

This information was disclosed in a statement released on Monday by Ikeja DisCo and confirmed by Mr. Kingsley Okotie, the company’s Head of Corporate Communication.

According to Mr. Okotie, the approval of the additional 23 feeders, including 6 newly upgraded to Band ‘A,’ followed NERC’s thorough review of their ability to deliver 20 hours of electricity supply daily.

Advisors Reports highlighted that this upgrade is part of NERC’s ongoing efforts to ensure a more efficient and reliable electricity supply for customers in the Band ‘A’ classification, which includes those who receive 20-24 hours of electricity supply daily.
