The massive $19 billion Dangote Oil Refinery and Petrochemicals in Ibeju-Lekki experienced a fire outbreak on Wednesday, June 26, 2024.

 

This incident comes just days after the management of the 650,000 barrels per day refinery raised alarms about efforts to frustrate its operations.

 

Unconfirmed reports indicated that explosions were heard as flames engulfed a section of the

 

Advisors Reports gathered that the fire has since been contained and brought under control.

 

The details of the incident remained sketchy as of the time of filing this report

 

Anthony Chiejina, Dangote Industries Limited, Group Chief Branding & Communications Officer, in a statement obtained by Advisors Reports, confirmed there is no cause for alarm as the refinery is operating.

 

He further added that there is no recorded injury or body harm to any of our staff on duty.

The management in a statement stated that first responders have successfully contained what they described as a minor fire incident at the effluent treatment plant early Wednesday.

 

It said, “We have swiftly contained a minor fire incident at our effluent treatment plant (ETP), today Wednesday 26th of June.
