… sixth reduction since early 2025

Oredola Adeola

Dangote Petroleum Refinery has lowered the ex-depot price of Premium Motor Spirit (petrol) by ₦25, bringing it to ₦774 per litre.

This is happening just weeks after increasing the gantry price from ₦699 to ₦799 per litre on January 26, 2026, following the conclusion of its festive period support initiative.

This was disclosed in a statement issued on Tuesday and obtained by Advisors Reports.

Advisors Reports gathered that the latest adjustment marks the sixth(6th) officially documented petrol price reduction by the refinery since it began actively adjusting gantry prices in early 2025.

According to the refinery, the new rate takes immediate effect nationwide.

Dangote emphasised that the current landing price of imported PMS from Lome stands at about N793 per litre, compared to Dangote Refinery’s ex depot price of N774 per litre.

It noted that the adjustment further strengthens its competitiveness of locally refined products,

Advisors Reports’ check showed that the refinery, in its latest adjustment, did not disclose the corresponding pump price (MRS) nor provide reasons for the N25 cut.

Recall that in January, the refinery had expressed concern over the attitude of some filling stations, which, despite taking delivery from its facility, failed to reflect the reduced price at the pump.

During its festive period support, the refinery noted that many stations did not pass on the price reduction to consumers, thereby denying Nigerians the intended benefits of the cut.
